Fear, anxiety, and sadness are not random emotions — they are among the tools Shayṭān uses to weaken the hearts of the believers.

When a person begins to fear other than Allah, his īmān weakens and his tawḥīd becomes vulnerable. Shayṭān seeks to plant panic about the future, worry about provision, and despair during trials so that the servant becomes distracted from obedience to Allah.

Drawing upon the words of Ibn al-Qayyim, this reminder explains how sadness and fear can weaken the heart, why Shayṭān loves to burden the believer with anxiety, and how strengthening tawḥīd and trusting Allah protects the servant from these traps.

A powerful reminder to fear none but Allah, have good thoughts of Him, and remember that every trial in this life is part of a greater wisdom.

May Allah strengthen our hearts with īmān and grant us certainty in Him.

What does it truly mean to possess unshakeable certainty (yaqeen) and place complete reliance (tawakkul) upon Allah during times of crisis and hardship? In this explanation, Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih al-'Uthaymeen clarifies how genuine reliance upon Allah brings tranquility to the heart and strengthens a believer against fear and anxiety.

In this lecture, Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih al-'Uthaymeen explains the fundamental relationship between certainty (yaqeen) and reliance (tawakkul) from Imam an-Nawawi’s Riyad as-Salihin. The Shaykh contrasts the unwavering conviction of the believers during severe trials—such as the Battle of the Trench and the aftermath of Uhud—with the doubt of the hypocrites, illustrating how reliance upon Allah serves as an invincible shield against the fear of creation. Through an explanation of Quranic verses and authentic prophetic narrations, including the Hadith of the birds and the recommended supplication (dua) before sleeping, he demonstrates that true reliance requires striving through lawful means (asbab) while maintaining total trust in Allah's decree. Ibn Taymiyyah would sit in his place of prayer until the forenoon, making dhikr of Allah. When asked about it, he said: "This is my strength. If I did not do this, my body would grow weak."

In this reminder, we explore a beautiful benefit drawn from the stories of the prophets — Nuh and Hud both called their people to istighfar and tawbah, and both promised the same result: rain, wealth, children, and strength of body. Taqwa and iman, we learn, are not only the path to the akhirah — they are also among the very causes by which the good of this dunya is attained.

And while other means exist — medicine, exercise, and so on — none compare to the wellbeing built upon iman and guarding the limbs in obedience to Ar-Rahman.

As for the akhirah, there is only one cause: taqwa. "Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer — We will surely cause him to live a good life." (An-Nahl: 97)

"If you were not to sin, Allah would take you away and bring a people who would sin and seek forgiveness — and He would forgive them." (Muslim)

This hadith is not a license to sin. It is an invitation to return.

In this enlightening reminder, we explore the profound meaning behind this narration — that Allah did not create man as an infallible angel. He created him as a bashar, with a nafs, desires, and a will. And when that nafs stumbles, Allah wants one thing: istighfar.

We also revisit two powerful stories from the Sunnah — the man who came to the Prophet ﷺ confessing what he had done in the orchard, and the young man who boldly asked permission to commit zina. In both cases, the Prophet's ﷺ response was not condemnation — it was wisdom, gentleness, and du'a.

"Indeed, al-hasanat wipe away as-sayyi'at."
