American men, southern men and Muslim men have lost their way in what it means to be a man.
Masculinity has been labeled as toxic masculinity in all its various forms and there is a battle being waged against men being masculine.
Return to Islam. Return to manhood. Return to Truth.

NOTE: The only edit I made to this song in post-production was adding a bit of reverb, eq, and compression.

Proffesional Griefers was an interesting one for me to remix. I decided to nix the vocals, and add a synth lead instead. I sped up the tempo from 128 bpm to 140 bpm, and completely overhauled the entire song. I hope you enjoy it!

The purpose of these videos is to break the notion that all electronic music has to be performed by DJs with a set of turtables or Ableton controllers. Personally, I like the risk involved with this kind of performance; as it makes the reward all the more great!

And now for a quick little bio for those of you who have read all this! My name is Ethan Dirks, and starting in late 2011 I started going by my performance name "Vox Atomic." I mostly produce electro, though I've been experimenting with a little dubstep lately. Recently, I've shifted my focus onto performing everything completely live(which is difficult but incredibly rewarding!) So stay tuned to this channel for a new song on a regular basis!

While walking with James to Best Buy on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, my heart broke seeing Leeza sitting on the sidewalk "flying a sign". Leeza is 22 years-old and has been homeless in New York City for two months.

Leeza panhandles to survive. She is trying to save up her money to get back to the West Coast.

The night before she slept outside in the front of a church.

An arrangement of Daði Freyr track Think About Things, the Icelandic Eurovision entry for 2020. I came across this wonderful song just as Coronavirus lockdown was coming into force and had some time to arrange it for 7 saxophones & percussion. I think it came out great!

⁣Cowboy Bebop the Movie: Knockin' on Heaven's Door
劇場版 カウボーイビバップ 天国の扉

Most Muslims know the name of Bilāl ibn Rabāḥ — but he was not the only Black Companion of the Prophet ﷺ.
In this video, we uncover the forgotten stories of the Black men and women who helped shape early Islam: leaders, warriors, scholars, caretakers, and pioneers whose contributions are rarely mentioned today.

From Umm Ayman, the woman the Prophet ﷺ called “my mother after my mother,” to Ali ibn abi Taalib, to the African Companions who stood with the Prophet in battles, da‘wah, and migration — this is a history every Muslim should know.

These stories show that:

Islam never marginalized Black people

The first Muslim community was racially diverse

Blackness held honor, dignity, and leadership in the earliest days of Islam

Anti-Blackness comes from culture and colonialism, not revelation

If you care about Islamic history, Black Muslim identity, or recovering erased narratives, this video is essential.

Kevin is a homeless youth living in a Chicago youth shelter. Kevin's mother kicked him out when he was 15 years-old, and he spent the next few years couch surfing. At 17, Kevin went and moved in with his dad, where he says they both put a lot of their feelings in a bottle. When that relationship exploded, Kevin found himself back out in the streets.

Kevin shares a candid story of sleeping outside and the realities of being a homeless youth.

When I asked Kevin what his future was like, he responded that he had been in so many places the last 3 years - that he didn't know, but at 18 Kevin is a young man with a world of experience. You only have to listen to him for a short time to know he's on a good path now, and if he stays the course, Kevin will do just fine.

Lyrics:

Hey that, one thing, that we thought we’d left behind,
Well, It’s bubbling to the surface, never left my mind
So why don’t we, stitch it up then piece by piece?
I don’t ever wanna forget what it meant it to me

Round and around we go, even if both our paths are separate,
When we come to an end,
Maybe we could start over again
Round and around we go, if we pretend we never meant it,
How could I blame you then?
Why not pick back up from where we left it?

Tu ru ru ru, Tu ru ru ru, Tu ru ru (x4)

Hey, remember that night, where we met for the first time?
Did I ever tell you I already wished you were mine?
But with that said, did you even like me then?
If you think about it, it was just that once, that we met

Stifling feelings
Alone but still dreaming,
Together we’d praise that love
Cuz we both want one happy ending,
With promises saying,
“Well come on and shout it out!

It’s love”

Round and around we go, even if both our paths are separate,
When we come to an end,
Maybe we could start over again
Round and around we go, if we pretend we never meant it,
How could I blame you then?
Why not pick back up from where we left it?

Tu ru ru ru, Tu ru ru ru, Tu ru ru (x8)

Round and around we go, even if both our paths are separate,
When we come to an end,
Maybe we could start over again
Round and around we go, if we pretend we never meant it,
How could I blame you then?
Why not pick back up from where we left it?

As the years go by, we’ll go with times,
Always relying our love to survive,
Though we’re not together, this song that we left,
Keep it from fading, tell me it’s love then (x2)
